Survival of the fittest is how our Christmas tree ornaments work. They migrate north as the kids get more interested in the ornaments and candy canes. We considered getting more tinsel and stuff but decided to spare ourselves the hassle.
Testimony:
For the last few months, Nicole has watched as kids get up to bear their testimony on Fast Sunday. She'll tell me she wants to. I figured she's just three and probably too shy to do it, so I tell her to wait. Well, today she was insistent- at one point she said, with one finger in the air, "Mommy, I'm going to bear my testimony, I'll be right back." I didn't want to keep denying her the opportunity, so I asked Jim to take her up since I can't pick her up while I'm 6 months prego. So Jim takes Nicole up and while they wait their turn, Nicole tries to cut in before others that were waiting...but finally it was her turn. Jim figured she would wait for his cues, so he told her to say "I'd like to bear my testimony" and she repeated that but then launched into some more words (I was out in the hall so I didn't hear this part). Jim quickly had her say "I love Jesus" and then ended the testimony. All I heard was her loud "Anem" and I knew it was her since she mixes the n and m. Jim figured he should bear his testimony too and told her to sit down behind him on a chair. He gave a quick testimony and right as he was closing he heard some noise. Looking behind him, Jim saw Nicole beaming a bright smile to the audience as she does what she's seen mommy do so many times at church- play the piano. Jim quickly retrieved his daughter-but not before she'd twinkled a few more notes-and exited as the congregation chuckled quietly. I think this week in preschool we'll practice what we say and do...and don't do :-)
Our half hour wiggle dance session each night always makes me laugh. Here's a minute and a half of the cute silly kids of mine.
