I followed a trail of shorn blond hair to discover that I was extremely glad that Elsa is a blonde!
Diana surrounded by her minions...I mean, toys. All attention on her! :)
John giving a belly laugh after a bath
The Uromastyx are looking so good, one is going to be orange and the other will be neon green, their colors only get better as they age!
Diana with her little K'nex cars and pony. She is feeding them some bread.
Marian was awesome to let us crash at her house for several afternoons while we had painters in the house. Katy found a baby doll and was sweetly feeding it while watching tv. A mother heart.
Diana and Evelyn had so much fun together, they play very well with each other.
On Friday, they finally finished painting my room so I took the little ones upstairs , took the computer and printer upstairs and did the books for Jim while the kids napped. You can tell by Diana's face how much she needed a nap. Crazy week!
Friday night we went out to #1 China with the Koffords. I REALLY wish I had taken a pic of the whole group, but here's the dynamic duo! #1 China is a standard takout place, with maybe 5 tables. We showed up to eat, not take out, and with the four adults and twelve kids it was quite a show. Anyone coming to do takeout had either a few chuckles or just kept staring like there was no way this is real. :) Good times.
John is 7 months old now, sitting up and getting into crawling position but not really crawling for real yet.
He is all smiles and cuteness.
Unless you are trying to introduce him to veggies. Then, it's a closed mouth and look of "Not impressed, Mom." He has finally accepted that table and baby food is a part of his life but still gives us that look plenty of times as he is getting used to it.
One of the painters asked if these guys bite :) Poor guy had to paint the lizard room and there are 6 lizards eyeing him the whole time. hehe
Lemon blueberry scones. So good!
Cookies for our primary teachers and the sisters I visit teach.
Royal icing is fun. It takes a while, so it's more of a crafty thing than a baking thing, but I enjoy making them.
We had a lovely day around 70 degrees and the kids found four lizards outside!
Nicole and Kiersten played each other again (with the small girls league they faceoff 3 times!) and the girls made sure they could guard each other. They actually match up pretty well. I love how they were grinning ear to ear.
Nicole with her embarrassed smile when I cheered her name. Moms rock! :)
Workin the dribble
Kiersten driving on Nicole
Kiersten's team won again after a hard fought game. The girls both get along so well, at one point in the game they were running to the other side of the court side by side, talking and laughing. And Marian and I were laughing side by side watching them play. I feel so blessed they chose to come to NC!
Katy with a teddy bear cookie
The boys started devouring their dino cookies before I got a picture.
Michael has been asking for baking lessons so today we started. I have a Southern Cookie cookbook and we marked some to try. This was Almond Snowball Cookies and we experimented with the topping of powdered sugar, cocoa or cinnamon/sugar. Nicole was so sweet to show Mike some of the ropes, and I loved seeing him take initiative to learn more in the kitchen.
Chef Michael in bliss after trying his cookie creations.
