The First Week with THREE!!

Jacob is named after the prophets in the Bible and Book of Mormon (and we LOVE the name). His middle name Don comes from his Great-Grandpa Don Ostler and his Grandpa Ostler's middle name. We hope his name can be an inspiration to him of great men to pattern his life after. Grandma helped out SO much and even devised a way of keeping Michael from going in on the newly mopped floor!

Nicole loved reading all of the books Grandma brought with her. One of them she couldn't read though because "it has no pictures!"
Grandma took Nicole and Michael on several walks where they "hiked the mountain" and brought me back some Alyssums.
Nicole made a "nest" with her stuffed animals and blankets and Grandma and Jacob kept her company.
I love how his little toes stick out of the blanket!
So much fun with Grandma is sure exhausting!! One morning they went shopping together for two and half hours and Nicole loved every minute of it! I was amazed that she lasted so long, but she had the funnest time! Nicole is so much less shy than she was when Michael was born, it was fun to see her get to love her Grandma.
A newborn sleeping has to be one of the most peaceful times in life. Jacob usually gets up once in the night- and although I go to bed late and wake up early, it's still a wonderful blessing and tender mercy that he actually sleeps so well. What an angel!
Nicole is wearing an apron that her Great Grandma Ostler made for me when I was around Nicole's age- it is crazy to see her wearing something I have pictures of when I was little! She helped Grandma bake almost every day and is helping Daddy with cooking too!
Potato cookin time!
Nicole finally got to hold the baby!! She still looks at my belly every now and then with a wondering look as if to say "is there another baby in there?"
Jacob probably won't have a super peaceful time since his crib is downstairs, but he is certainly loved beyond measure! Whenever he makes a sound, both kids are over at the crib peering down at him and Nicole will tell me if he has a dirty diaper, is hungry, or is "crying again."
Looking at pictures with Grandma! Nicole took a ton of pictures with her camera- and Michael posed a cheesy smile for every one! :-) We were so grateful for Grandma coming to help, she helped the transition be so much easier and gave the kids all the love they needed while mommy was catching up to speed. You know what...I think we can make it!
