We FINALLY made it as a family to the beach! The water was this amazing temperature that was slightly cool yet perfect for the hot beach weather. A light breeze kept the beach pleasant and we could not have asked for a better time as a family!

Michael went through several stages of delight. The first stage was discovering he could pick up and throw all of the sand he wanted to, which he did for a long time. Then he discovered digging. And lastly, he discovered the water!

Nicole stayed nearby (she used to run down the beach every chance she got) and I think that was because she enjoyed playing with Michael so much! She got water in her bucket and would race to water some seaweed that had come on shore.

So happy to be at the beach!

The water felt so good and the kids loved it from the first splash! They were hesitant to go farther in because of the waves that seemed so loud to them, but after a while they were racing in and out of the waves screaming with delight.

Michael was hilarious to watch- he ran, fell, sat, splashed, rolled and repeated the process so many times!

We carried the kids into the deeper water but Nicole much preferred the shore (screaming "daddy save me" if we took her in). Michael loved going in and would just stare out at the ocean peacefully.

Nicole and I would jump over the waves and that helped her get used to the waves.

We played all morning at the beach and left around 2 to go home for a bbq we were having.

Daniel and the kids had so much fun together. They were digging and splashing like crazy! The best part was when Daniel got huge sand crabs and the kids played with them.

Michael in paradise- endless sand and water!

I really enjoyed watching the kids play so happily together. They felt totally independent and happy while running around, finding shells, and digging sand.

At the beach! Jacob slept almost the whole time so we were able to have a great time.

Michael staying hydrated. We also brought some bright orange peanut butter crackers and the seagulls practically attacked Nicole trying to grab one out of her hands and she freaked out. But don't worry, she was chasing the birds around again a few minutes later.

The kids loved running in and out of the ocean dragging the boogie boards along with them. Nicole even tried kneeling on it when waves came! She would never let us help her try to boogie board but she will slowly try to do it herself-that is her personality.

This morning for Father's Day we gave Jim a portable grill that he can take to work to grill for lunch or that we can take camping or on picnics.

Nicole made a special card that she colored for Jim and gave him a big daddy's day hug!
