Family

The last few weeks have been filled with fun!

The kids love love love the Lego Movie and finally earned sets with their summer bucks. Last Tuesday they started making their creations and we had tacos for Taco Tuesday in honor of the movie.

Mike is going strong on piano lessons! Nicole practices by herself for the most part now which helps a LOT so I'm not sitting for an hour every morning working with the kids. He has been chugging right along and picks things up quickly.

Marian and company arrived last week and we were able to have a bunch of playdates! There have been so many funny, cute, and sweet moments. It's like a family reunion without the sorrow of parting, just a "see you soon." One sweet moment was when I was handing out popsicles and Mike wanted the color that Dallin had. Dallin handed it to Mike just being nice and Mike said "Now that's what I call a best friend!"

I gave the boys haircuts and have now delved into the realm of leaving their hair a little longer so they can actually make a part in their hair. They felt very handsome "just like daddy"

Jake didn't want to wear a shirt after the hair made him all itchy.

Luke came for a visit with Kollin and it was so much fun for the family. They added several really fun things for the kids. Here is everyone trying to pull down a tree in the way of the zip line. As fun as it was to pull the rope together, the tree stayed strong and eventually Jim used a saw to get it down.

Diana stayed out of trouble on the swing while they were taking the tree down. Because the swing is hung so high, she can swing really far.

Tree down!

Diana trying out the zip line!

Next up was a bike ramp/fort/zip line starting point

The boys rode bikes in the back yard while their dads were making everything. The whole day was on-and-off rain, but without thunder or lightening they just played through the rain.

Trying out the bike ramp for the first time!

After going down the bike ramp through the yard, the kids go over this jump! It is a little hard for them to get enough speed so it ends up being more of a hilly ride. Kollin can get air on the jump and was teaching Mike how to do it, so they'll figure it out.

Last project of the day was the skateboard swing. It was great entertainment for everyone on the porch watching them trying to get the rope up so high but they finally got it and the kids do all sorts of "tricks"

In the afternoon Marian and her family joined us! We also had my cousin Greg (who just moved here) and his wife and girl join us! We had a lot of people inside and out, all having a great time together even with the rain.

The damp weather made for a lot of mushrooms growing and the kids loved showing me what they found.

Kollin just wanted to find a frog or a lizard. The whole trip the kids couldn't find any for some reason. But the last day, a few hours before he left this morning he caught a skink and was on cloud nine!

Mike with two centipedes or some kind of crawly bug.

Katy is such a sweet and sincere loving baby.

She loves hitting things with her hands and figuring out how to grab toys.

She smiles at and loves everyone she sees. Katy is such a joy!

Mike and D planning their next move. They are two peas in a pod- so adventurous and fearless!
