Lots of catching up to do!
Flare laid several clutches of eggs and only the last clutch had fertile eggs.
We saved every one that we thought might be fertile- 4 out of these hatched eventually.
Nicole doing pushups with the school gym mascot, Cardio Clem.
Happy baby
After a long shopping trip and with a fussy baby and big load at checkout, I was paying for the groceries when Diana cheerfully told me "I threw my sandals out of the cart! And, you didn't see me!" I did a quick scan, but there was no way I was trekking through the store again! She no longer has those sandals, silly girl.
Listening to Candy Shop Wars
Nicole goes to Harry Potter book club at her school and wanted to remember this craft they made forever so had me take a pic.
Green eggs and bacon croissant sandwiches for Dr Seuss day.
Hello sunshine!
Jim reenacting the breaking of the chair. We use our furniture until it is done!
Katy's day of pottytraining included lots of fun crafts and stickers and paint to do in the kitchen.
Diana and Mom
Katy so proud of her drawing
Nicole's playdough creations
Happy after day 1 pottytraining and katy was dry all night!
Within a few days, Katy was good to go.
As good as Katy was, it was still exhausting work and John was my little buddy.
Lots of stickers and a tired momma mean the girls can have lots of fun. I went through carpool picking up the kids like this and the older kids had a good laugh.
Would you sleep like this with two older energetic sisters? I keep turning his head but this is how he always prefers to sleep.
Watching BYU basketball
After finishing Candy Shop Wars we went to a candy factory and the kids had fun with their imaginations and tastebuds :)
Jacob loves to read, this was a dinosaur book he got for his birthday. At his 7 year old checkup he was so cute. When the doctor had finished the checkup and explained things like emotions, health, and privacy he asked if Jacob had any questions or concerns. And Jacob said yes so we are trying to listen while the other three littles with me are making all of this noise and Jake quietly and seriously explains that when he is singing and someone sings the wrong notes he follows their notes and sings the wrong notes. The doctor assured him that he could work on that and that it was not a big problem. Jacob is such a sweet boy. He weighs 42 lbs (6th %) and is 47.5in tall (36th%).
We had snow in mid-March! Lots of things had already started blooming because we'd had some great weather.
Jacob earned some pirate gear from the dollar store for his hard work in piano lessons.
Meeting the Kofford's new chicks after school.
With the fire well barricaded from John, we enjoyed the cold weather.
Mike and Jim playing chess. The kids have really enjoyed playing and Michael has a book of tips he made that he refers and adds to.
I took the kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters.
They really enjoyed it and were laughing and clapping along with such smiles.
Sharing popcorn was a total highlight
Katy took this at church somehow. She is a wiggly little thing and loves to shout out "potty? potty!" because she knows that will get Jim headed for the exit with he right away.
Kids goofing off while we watch Fixer Upper.
The early warm weather started the strawberry season early and we have enjoyed several trips to a farm closeby.
This day after school we were the only ones there and with all of the kids running around picking berries in the beautiful weather it was so fun.
They had a few very docile horses that patiently let the kids feed and pet it.
Jacob has such a sweet and loving heart, he will often do things for others without fanfare.
Nicole is really getting good at the piano and is working on her third hymn and is very much hoping they will get easier to play :)
Michael loves to do creative things and help others. I love when he asks, "Mom is there something I can do to help?" The other day he made a card for me with a pop-up heart and told me how excited he was to learn how to do pop-ups. He asked if I had ever learned and told me how he figured it out all on his own. So excited and so cute telling me all about it. He loves to make things and has been working on his pinewood derby car with Jim.
John has decided that once his teeth came in he could no longer suck his fingers for comfort and must therefore cry the house awake several times a night. Over a month later and we are still trying to figure this out. It's a phase that we are working through and it's one of those phases that I can't wait to see the other side of since the other kiddos need 100% of my energy.
Flare, proud mama
Spike, showing his beautiful coloring
