Family Pictures at Jordan Lake

We took family pictures (and, at the end, some fun and silly family band pictures as we begin our summer tour haha). The photographer asked if there was a meaningful place for us, and I thought- the beach of course! Reflecting on the experience driving home late the night of the shoot, Jim and I decided on a few things: 1. NEVER take a photo shoot at a beach. There is a magnetic pull for children and water/sand that cannot be denied. I think I said a thousand times-at least- get out of the water & don't play in the sand. Maybe two thousand. No kidding. #2: I don't care if the magic hour is when the sun sets. It's also an hour past bedtime and only the most creative photoshopping in the world will get pictures to look like anything but torture. Seriously.
Fix those two things and this would have been a stress-free photo shoot. Let my learning experience be your gain :) Of course, so many pictures turned out well and she did a great photoshop job on the family photos. Love this family of mine!
