Nicole unlocking the secrets of monkey bread...
Diana with a bow in her hair. Since she's worn a bow twice in her life I figure it was worth recording.
We had two weeks of snow/ice break. This gets a little tricky with ice when the kids can't go outside and we can't drive anywhere. But we survived! Here is the dragon lair they made that kept them entertained for days.
Here is the 3rd snow!
This third snow was slushy (and then icy when temps dropped) but for one morning we had fun in the slush! The driveway was too wet but the grass was awesome. The best part was when they landed in the slushy street.
Jim made a little ramp for our trainer snowboard.
Marian had her baby the next week after the snow was all gone! I got to watch Devin and Evelyn and it was so awesome that I could actually help even though it was more just a fun playdate.
Evelyn was pretend whistling at Katy then kept saying to me in a confused voice "She not coming! Why she not come?"
When all the kids got home from school it was pretty awesome. 10 kids! We had cinnamon rolls to celebrate a new baby and the kids played together. Such a special day!
Jim made another cajon drum and put pads on the bottom so it wouldn't scratch the floors. It has become the perfect walker toy for Katy because it doesn't tip over and she can push it around. Katy is developing more and more of her personality, she loves to talk, cuddle with blankets and eat real food (not baby food puree).
The final day of our snowman. He lasted a good three weeks or so!
Michael: "When I am 100 years old I will...be old with my job all day long! and one day I will soon die. and I will be funny!!!!"
Jim had several service projects Saturday morning so he took the boys and I took the girls to Nicole's last basketball game! I didn't get to watch much of the game between the two little ones, but Nicole dominated the tip-off and it was especially delightful watching her trying to get open.
Sourdough I made yesterday! I just love the look and taste. Today I had a taste of sourdough that had been flown from San Fran yesterday. The taste was incredible, it's so fun learning more about breads!
Jim and I went to an Irish restaurant for date night. We enjoyed a boxty sampler (potato pancakes with various fillings) He got bangers and mash, I had some Galway Bay fish tacos with potato croquettes. For dessert we had crème brulee. Having never eaten at an Irish restaurant I was blown away by how tasty it all was. We had so many more things on the menu we wanted to try, we will definitely be back!
The crème brulee. Yum! Best of all, this restaurant is a mile from our house!
