A dream came true this last week when Mom, Dad, Benjamin and Caleb visited for a few days!All of the men went fishing and Benjamin caught an enormous catfish! We look forward to hearing if Ohio has fish to beat this one!
Nicole reading Caleb a bedtime story. He was such a good sport to listen to the thrilling stories in her library books.
We went to a farm on Saturday to have fun in their corn maze and with all of the other games and rides.
Before entering the maze, Caleb and Benjamin tried to memorize the way. They must have done a good job memorizing because they finished long before the rest of us!
We had a clue sheet and had Nicole answer some of the questions.
We went from 5 to 6 then found our way back somehow to 5 and thought we'd never see the next number! Apparently Mickey and Minnie are dogs, not mice. (That's the answer that led the right way!)
Nicole had the yellow flag in case we needed to flag for help. We discovered it was hazardous to walk to close to our "helper."
Caleb and Benjamin left markers near the exit showing they'd been by. And by the number of drawings, they beat us by a long shot.
We took a "cow ride"
From the picture you can see it was more a dusty hay ride but still fun. We came in the mid-morning and had no waits for anything. So fun!

The slide was a little steep and once Jacob bowled Caleb over when he tried to catch him. So cute!
This huge corrugated slide was so fun for the kids, even if they were a bit terrified of it at first.
A huge hit was the water pump duck races. You can see by Michael's tongue that he is extremely focused!
Both kids were determined to be the fastest. We all raced each other. I think Dad beat all of us...

A new addition this year was the tractor bike races. Nicole was thrilled she could pedal and Jim and Benjamin held the boys. Michael kept wanting to steer, and that was hilarious to watch. Jim is definitely teaching Michael to drive.
A favorite spot was the corn box. We had fun laughing and enjoying the novelty.
Nicole let us totally bury her and Michael stayed still to be covered pretty well too.
After playing in the sandbox my shoes were filled with sand. We also found corn around the house all weekend and I found some in the dryer today (at least it wasn't popcorn :-)
Michael kept getting corn in his mouth. Wonder why...
I held Caleb's arms and we stuffed his shirt full of corn. He definitely got the full corn experience!

Nicole and Michael kept going back to the races. We've got fans of the speedway for sure!

We had a barbecue that night at Jordan Lake. We told the kids to only get wet up to their knees. Riiiiiiiiight....

After the barbecue, we took a stroll through downtown Apex.
Nicole and Michael got some birthday cake ice cream!
This shop had chalk and a bunch of drawings were all over the sidewalk. My kids added their own scribbles to the mix.
Reading scriptures that night. Michael hasn't quite calmed down yet.
Sunday night barbecue dinner! Pulled pork, corn, beans... ahh, Southern Cooking! With iced pumpkin cookies for dinner!
Scripture study Sunday night in our library.
Monday morning we got to work on the yard. Benjamin and Dad were amazing and did a great job sizing these way overgrown bushes to size!
Playing with Grandpa! My kids loved the attention and how fun Grandpa is!
Front yard done! All of the bushes were trimmed and we put down pine straw so no weeds will grow.
