We had Kiersten over for a birthday playdate. Nicole had a lot of fun wrapping Kiersten's presents in lots and lots of wrapping paper!
John loves crawling to the back porch and seeing what else he can find.
For Easter, we had the kids search for eggs and inside each egg was a puzzle piece and a jellybean. Once they put the puzzle together they got their "grand prizes" from the dollar store. It's been good to lessen the sugar level of this holiday.
Sweet little Katydid. She is 26lbs (8th%) and is 37in tall (68th%). She is a snuggly sweetheart that will play or eat happily by herself as she enjoys the show around her (usually put on by Diana). She loves to play with little ponies and will often be carrying several with her.
Katy turned 3 on April 14th. She had a yummy chocolate cake with tons of colors of frosting. She didn't cry this year about seeing flames on her cake, but she did need her siblings to blow out her candles.
They were more than happy to oblige.
We had the Koffords over for Easter dinner and the kids played so nicely afterwards.
I made Turtle Cake for Jim to deliver.
I made 6 cakes in two weeks, each taking 2 hours to make. Since the caramel has to be made one batch at a time, there's really not an overlap of time and so it was quite an effort. But I got to eat the 6th cake on my birthday weekend with friends so that was worth it!
Diana caught a frog. She was actually afraid to touch it but could scoop it up with this container. As much as she wanted to keep it, I explained how it would definitely shorten it's life span and released it where she couldn't recapture it. She can hold lizards anytime and can leave the frogs be :)
The lizards hatched. They were so tiny, from head to tail the length of my index finger.
We had a really fun date night to celebrate our birthdays. We had dinner at an Irish restaurant and walked a few doors down to this paint class. We had 11 people in our party and it made for a fun evening with friends doing something fun.
Robin brought us dinner for my birthday and about 2 minutes into the meal I asked everyone who liked the meal- and this was their honest response. Chicken curry was a hit!

I was in Utah so Jim took the girls while his mom stayed home with John (it was right at bedtime, so Diana is apparently ready. I don't ask when I'm out of town about things like outfits. Alive and happy with their daddy is all that matters)

In Utah! Michael was staring at himself in the mirror and I asked what he was doing and he said he was thinking about all of the fun we were going to have. So cute! I took Mike with me for a short trip to see Daniel graduate from BYU.
Breakfast for Michael ever morning was a waffle, bowl of fruit loops and o.j. Yum!

Our first morning Daniel took us on a hike of the Y, which I'd never done while attending BYU.
He brought his grad gear just in case we could get a nice shot and I love how it came out!
Mike beat us all to the top, skipping all the way. I, on the other hand, was needing every possible break!

Some extended family caught us for lunch right before commencement. It was great to see them on this short trip!
The weather was FREEZING in Provo and we had just left 80 degree weather so it was crazy to be back to coats and snow.

Michael was blown away by how good Jamba Juice is. He was the picture of bliss.
Love this boy. He loved seeing different museums, this was at the art museum on campus.
They also have a paleontology museum. It's obviously not endowed with lots of funds, but the stuff in there is pretty neat to see.

Mike went bowling for the first time and was prettymuch in heaven. I don't think he ever sat down. He was helping with the balls, advice, etc.
And thrilled that he beat his mom! He even got a strike!
They had a foot relaxer machine for a quarter and it basically vibrated really fast and shook the whole body. It was crazy.
We went to the creamery on 9th where I used to work and got some brownies.
We played ping pong and soccer and toured the Eyring Science Center (he loved the air cannon!) and he still was loaded with energy!
We celebrated with root beer and pizza at Brick Oven.
Yum!
Then spent the entire Saturday flying home, despite delays and blizzard in Colorado. It was a long day.
Mike never slept and we got home around 11:30pm after getting to the airport 12 hours earlier.
The next morning was stake conference, so it was nice to just get up and go.

And she returned the favor. We got there just under an hour early to get good seats and it was worth it. The kids were so good and I felt like we were actually a part of the meeting. Of course at the end it got a little tricky when Katy accidentally fell in the toilet on a bathroom break. But overall, we'll say- success! :)

That night we skyped my family and it was great to see everyone. Just another Skype or two before our family reunion!
Mike had a class play- The Day The Crayons Quit. At one point there was a clip of some music for the kids to dance a few seconds and there was Mike, fist pumping with glee in the back row!

At 2 1/2 weeks old now, the lizards are getting ready to shed (their tails are getting lighter colored) and they eat more and more bugs.
They've literally doubled in size!

For Cinco de Mayo we got together with friends for a potluck dinner and it was so good!
Mike's not a fan of salsa, so he figured out his own way to spice his dinner up.
Jim and I went on a double date with friends on a popular trail called the Tobacco Trail. It goes really far, we just did 15 miles and had a wonderful time in the beautiful weather on a great trail that goes through woods and bridges.
The lizards are old enough now to start getting used to being handled, so the kids take time to hold the lizards-while still in the cage.
Diana and Katy play together really well quite often it is wonderful! This morning they were in their own little world of ponies and guys.
John is little joy. He has 6 teeth and will chew on ANYTHING :)
We don't have many baby toys. He doesn't seem to mind.
